System Permissions
This document applies to the Mainland China iOS App and matches the current text available in the App.
TracePoint requests a system permission only when you trigger the related feature.
1. Location While Using the App
Used when you actively locate, move the map, confirm a Footprint coordinate, or resolve an on-device Lit administrative area while saving. Continuous background location is not requested. If declined, you can still search for a place or move the map manually.
2. Camera
Used when you take an on-device Footprint photo or open the scanner for a Friend-code QR. Footprint photos remain on the device and have metadata removed. A scan result is used only as the Friend code you submit.
3. System photo picker
Provides only the Footprint photo or avatar you explicitly select and does not grant access to browse the full library. When creating a Footprint, the App separately asks whether it may read the selected photo's EXIF location and capture time in memory.
4. Notifications
Requested only after you enable Friend-request notifications. APNs receives only a device token, environment, and generic text without a nickname, city, photo, Footprint, Trip, destination, expense, or checklist.
You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Revocation affects future access and does not automatically delete saved data.
