Software Terms of Use
These terms form an agreement between you and Beijing Suanshu Technology for PeakTrace. Rights granted by mandatory local law are not excluded.
Editions and distribution channels
The PeakTrace direct edition is distributed as an Apple-notarized installer, while the Mac App Store edition is distributed through the Mac App Store. Both editions are free.
The direct edition includes application rankings, process diagnostics, Force Quit, CPU temperature, and Release Memory. Because the Mac App Store edition operates in the App Sandbox, it does not include these features that require access to other processes or additional system privileges.
License grant
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PeakTrace for personal use or internal use within an organization. PeakTrace is proprietary software, and this license does not transfer ownership of the software or its intellectual property.
Metrics, notifications, and system actions
PeakTrace metrics, trends, peak detection, and notifications help you understand device activity and are not diagnostic, repair, security, or other professional advice. Results may be affected by Mac hardware, macOS version, sampling intervals, system permissions, and system API limitations.
The direct edition can inspect processes that macOS permits it to access. After you confirm Force Quit, the selected process terminates immediately and may lose unsaved data or interrupt work. PeakTrace cannot override macOS permission controls.
After you approve macOS administrator authorization, the direct edition's Release Memory action clears file caches that macOS considers reclaimable. It does not terminate applications, and macOS determines the result.
Restrictions
Except where applicable law expressly permits, you may not use PeakTrace to violate law or another person's rights, interfere with the update service, rent, sell, redistribute, copy, or reverse engineer the app.
Updates, changes, and availability
The direct edition receives signed updates through Sparkle, while the Mac App Store updates its edition. Later versions may adjust features as macOS, hardware, and platform rules change. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available on every Mac, system version, or network environment.
Warranty and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PeakTrace is provided as is without warranties not expressly stated here. Beijing Suanshu Technology is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use PeakTrace. Liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited remains unaffected.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China without excluding mandatory laws that apply where you live. Apple terms also apply to Mac App Store distribution. Send questions to support@suancore.com.
